It seems like based on the input in this bug, you've filed a feature request instead. forge.config.js is a convention rather than a strict filename. Also, a "default forge.config.js" has never been a feature of Electron Forge.

I'm probably not going to implement this. I'd rather have an external config file be named in package.json rather than have an implied default config filename, or have to supply this in the CLI. (I really don't like npm scripts with CLI flags specified if it can be avoided.)
