If screen is locked with Code in focus, on unlock I can't select any text

What Happened?

Double-tapping and dragging with the touchpad or pressing Shift+ArrowKeys moves the cursor around instead of selecting the text.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open code and start editing a file.
2. With Code still in focus, lock the screen — it should turn off.
3. Wake the screen and unlock your session. Code should be focused.
4. Try to select any text on the document you've opened.

To recover the functionality, switch focus to another app and return to Code (e.g. Alt+Tab).

Expected Behavior

Text selection should work.

As far as I know, other apps that frequently contain text or forms (e.g. Firefox, Thunderbird) don't exhibit this problem.

Seems to affect selection in terminal pane and in search entries as well. Re-focusing Code with alt-Tab also clears the issue even if no other app open.

Just produced the same issue with a completely different app (CherryTree in a Flatpak) so I suspect this is a window manager issue.
