The ability to move the dock around in settings across the screen

Problem

I come from Ubuntu, I could have my dock on the left side of the screen. I would like the option to be able to move my dock to the left, bottom, right, and top sides of my screen. I'd also like to be able to have it formatted to the left, center, and right edges of the side so for example If I could have it to the left side and the right edge of that side.

Not a duplicate. That only concerns edges, I'm talking about edges and sides.

I think that would be pretty much the same topic though - more placement and formatting options, with the same raised concerns and issues.
