OpenCMR2 0.1.4
0.1.4 adds widescreen:
- 16:9 and 16:10 display modes (1280 x 720 to 2560 x 1440; Options, Graphics, Advanced Graphics,
Display Mode). In the race the view fills the whole width and shows more of the stage at the sides;
the menus, movies and HUD stay 4:3 in the middle, the menus with black sides. The original's 4:3
modes are unchanged, and 640 x 480 is still the default.
OpenCMR2 needs your own copy of Colin McRae Rally 2.0: the PC CD, as an .iso image or a folder with its files
(data1.hdr, data1.cab, Game, FrontEnd). No game data is included. See the
status for what works.
- macOS: unzip and open
Colin McRae Rally 2.0 (gasm).app(ad hoc signed, not notarized: the first time, right-click, Open). - Linux (x86_64, arm64): unpack and run
./opencmr2.sh(--install-desktopadds a menu entry). - Windows (x86_64): unzip and run
OpenCMR2.cmd. - Any system:
gasm-run opencmr2-<version>.wasm --asset cd=CMR2.ISOwith gasm 0.16.1 or newer.
The launchers ask for the game data once and remember it (--change-data picks another). Every file has a
.sha256 next to it. Guide: https://opencmr2.emdzej.pl/guide/game-data

OpenCMR2 0.1.3
0.1.3 brings the network game to a whole rally:
- The network game: the stage's and the rally's results pages list every player; a rally goes on
from stage to stage to its end, with its points; the replay shows every player's car; a player who
leaves mid-stage disappears from it. Still being tested: reports welcome. - Network play from the browser: the play page takes a relay and a room. How to set up a relay and
race others: https://opencmr2.emdzej.pl/guide/network - The site in the game's menu colours, with the main menu's ribbon of letters on the home page.

OpenCMR2 0.1.2
0.1.2 fixes the pause menu:
- Esc pauses the race (graphics, sound, restart stage, exit, continue). Races started from the menus
ignored it. - The browser player exports the saves (options, controller set-up, driver profiles, replays) as a zip
and imports them, so they move between browsers and to or from the desktop version.

OpenCMR2 0.1.1
0.1.1 fixes stutter in the race:
- Steady frame rate with the cubic environment map (Advanced Graphics): the car's reflection, drawn from
six views of the stage every frame, made the game drop frames where the scenery is dense. - Smoother skid marks, dust and mud: their drawing no longer stalls the graphics driver.
- No more periodic slowdowns every few seconds: the sound now follows the real time between frames.
