GUI: (add an option to) increase contrast for the backdrop behind differing lines in diff view

I often find it hard to spot differing lines in large functions. A way to increase the contrast would help.

My use case has been addressed by c5da7f7 / 2.4.0, which adds diff colors to any differing symbols.
