funding.json is a manifest that enables Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) projects to declare their financial needs in a machine-readable format. The self-contained JSON file can be easily published in repositories or websites, functioning similarly to robots.txt or Progressive Web App manifests.

funding.json is used at FLOSS/fund in the Directory

FLOSS/fund is dedicated to supporting critical, impactful, and valuable Free/Libre and Open Source projects globally.

The idea for endoflife.date is to add a funding.json to our website and submit in the floss.fund Directory.

Been wanting to do this for a while, I am on the FOSS United GB, and was promoting funding.json at FOSDEM this year - so big +1 from me.
