redux-persist is alive! (v7 beta)

Hey all! Sorry for the silence. I am back and redux persist will be maintained again. (This thread moved here from #1486. Feedback on the v7 beta goes below; bugs go in issues.)

v7 beta is out 🎉 npm install redux-persist@next

It needs Redux 5 or Redux Toolkit 2. Highlights:

• Works with RTK out of the box: no more serializableCheck / ignoredActions setup
• Stored data no longer gets wiped when a read fails or times out (Data sporadically erased (React Native) #809)
• Server rendering (Next.js) without the "failed to create sync storage" error
• Proper TypeScript types, plus allowlist/denylist that catch typos in key names
• PersistGate fixes and a new useRehydrated() hook
• No storage migration needed: v7 reads what v5/v6 stored, and you can roll back to v6

7.0.0-beta.1 is out (npm install redux-persist@next). Fixes since beta.0:

• Next.js App Router: rendering PersistGate from a Server Component now gives a clear "use a Client Component" error, and the docs show the Providers pattern
• TypeScript: passing stateReconciler: hardSet / autoMergeLevel2 inline no longer breaks types (Typescript stateReconciler error #1368)
• A reducer throwing on REHYDRATE no longer leaves the app stuck on loading (persist/REHYDRATE payload and err is undefined #719)
• Array or primitive state passed to persistReducer now gets a clear dev warning (Empty array is changing to empty object on rehydrate #215)

7.0.0-beta.2 is out (npm install redux-persist@next). Fixes since beta.1:

• Redux DevTools: hot reloading or injecting a reducer no longer reads storage again and undoes recent changes (REHYDRATE is dispatched after reducer is injected #1387)
• Server rendering: PersistGate and useRehydrated no longer cause hydration errors when stored state loads before React hydrates (PersistGate in SSR applications rendering app twice when using React v18 #1452)
• Synchronous storage engines (and Jest mocks) work: storage methods can return plain values (Persistoid crashes in react-native testing library #1397, Synchronous store (no async/await Promises, react-native-mmkv) #1281)
• Nested persists keep saving after a purge() right at startup
• Redux Toolkit: state stays frozen at the top level too (Incorrect work with immer immutable state first level. #1298)
• New: allowlist / denylist take a function, e.g. denylist: key => key.startsWith('temp') (Whitelist & blacklist should support regex #1283)
• Dev warnings when state is reset above persistReducer (Store rehydrates when close app and reopen even after clearing data #659) or replaceReducer switches to another storage key (Dynamic keyPrefix for Multiple Users #1112)

New docs too: recipes for loading state later, state per user, syncing tabs and encryption (docs/recipes.md). Questions and ideas now go in Discussions 🙏
