An app for people to solve problems in terms of Education and Finance
I have created an app called Education and Finance that will cover both topics. In the Education section, I have created a survey that displays two questions in a textbox, one of which asks whether you go to a private or public school. The next question will ask how much fee did you pay for this school in codndition of private and public school. For public school, if the number is greater than or equal to $14903, then you're in good hands. For a private school, if the number is greater than or equal to $14397, then you're in good hands.
For the finance section, I wanted to talk more about how I created the circle chart because its the most challenging one that I’ve done. I have created a CSS class called .chart-container to create the pie chart. It crates a margin of 70 pixels from top to bottom with auto in placing the circle. Width and height is to 250px to make the shape even. The radius is 80% to curve the corners of the shape in order to create the circle. Lastly, the shadow is added to give the feel of where the circle is.
In the finance section, it will have the text boxes with the categories mortgage, property tax, insurance, ultitlities, and maintainance. Fill in the numbers, and it will take the total first. Total number of values equal to zero will not be allow. In order to convert them to percentages, each value it will take the fraction of the total times *100. To create the pie chart, I created a CSS color gradient function. Based on the percentages, it is define to know what the starting point to endpoint is, allowing for which slice of ciciel does it belong to while retaining the whole cicile and completing it. The meaning of cache elements is to stored the values so that the script is modified or changed. Overall, this project is designed to help me practice JavaScript, CSS design, and data visualization.
