Data and recovery
Open Preferences → Data for a consistent SQLite backup download. Keep a private offline copy outside the Raspberry Pi. A backup contains personal notebook data and is not encrypted.
Restoration validates an isolated upload and shows a preview before replacing the entire notebook. It first preserves a validated pre-restore recovery snapshot, then replaces data transactionally and expires old forms. v0.2.0 accepts exact schemas 5–8, up to 64 MiB; previous v0.1.0 accepts 5–7. Older snapshots migrate in isolation. v0.1.0 cannot open schema 8. Configuration/password files must be preserved separately.
Delete stations or QSOs from their edit page after confirmation. Preferences → Trash restores them independently. There is no permanent purge. Deleting a station does not erase its historical contacts; its callsign stays reserved until restored. A participant link to a trashed QSO becomes available again after restoration.
ADIF is contact interchange, not a full backup. ASCII ADI import supports up to 16 MiB/10,000 records with a preview, duplicate counts and unsupported-field disclosure. Unicode/custom QSObook data uses APP_QSOBOOK_DATA; other programs may ignore it. Imports preserve current registrations and never geocode automatically.
Read the full data guide before restoration or interchange.
Schema-8 backups also include RadioID consent, retry schedules, returned IDs, automatic-field origins and pre-enrichment participant snapshots. Restoring an enabled backup restores scheduled lookup permission. Disable the option before export if that is the choice you want restored. Background writes can expire transfer previews; generate a fresh preview or pause RadioID during maintenance. ADIF does not transfer these settings; incomplete imported registrations may later qualify for a normal opted-in daily retry.
