Live streaming to YouTube and Twitch

Stream the operator’s live view (or a transcode of it) to YouTube and Twitch, in addition to Frame.io clip upload.

The camera SoftAP has no internet. Any livestream is an architecture problem first, an RTMP checkbox second.

What already exists

• Frame.io clip upload after hopping off camera Wi-Fi (docs/frameio-setup.md)
• Operator Setup → Sharing stubs: stream quality, share-feed, broadcast priority — all “not in this build”
• No RTMP / RTMPS / WHIP / HLS ingest code

Constraints we already know

• Pocket live is 720p HEVC (Pocket) or AVC (Nano) on the camera LAN
• Joining SoftAP typically isolates the iPhone from cellular
• Do not dual-purpose 0x09/0xa8 as a keyframe pump for a CDN

Workstreams

1. Backhaul architecture (must come first)

• Pick a real path: second radio (Android?), Ethernet accessory, USB tether to a laptop encoder, two-phone relay, or “stream only when not on camera AP”
• Write the operator story: who stays on the Pocket, who talks to YouTube
• Explicit non-goal: livestreaming while the only NIC is 192.168.2.1

2. Encode + ingest

• RTMPS to Twitch and YouTube with stream key in Keychain (never logs, never git)
• Title / quality preset only after backhaul works
• Mute / overlay / rec-tally optional later

3. Proof

• 5+ minute YouTube and Twitch unlisted/test ingest without killing Pocket live view
• Document thermal and hop behavior

Out of scope

• Replacing Frame.io C2C
• Camera-native livestream (Mimo may have a path we have not captured — treat as a separate capture if it appears)

Done when

There is a documented backhaul, a test ingest to both services, and Operator Setup no longer lies with a “Coming soon” Sharing tab unless the feature is actually behind a flag.
