Movable crop marks

Goal

Add movable crop marks to the monitor guides so operators can position framing overlays instead of being locked to a centered crop.

Why it matters

When one shot must serve both horizontal and vertical deliverables, a centered crop guide can make it difficult to compose intentionally for both frames. Positionable crop marks would let the operator protect the important part of the image while still judging the full camera frame.

Proposed experience

• Offer movable crop marks for supported aspect-ratio guides and delivery frames
• Let the operator drag the guide to a deliberate position over the live image
• Keep the crop boundary and any safe-area indication clear without obscuring critical monitoring tools
• Preserve the selected crop position during a monitoring session and reconnect when practical
• Provide a simple reset-to-center action

Success looks like

An operator can frame a live Nikon Z shot for horizontal and vertical outputs at the same time by moving the relevant crop marks to protect the intended composition.

Open questions

• Should crop-mark positions be stored per guide, camera, project, or session?
• How should crop marks interact with image rotation, external displays, clean feed, and existing safe-area guides?
