  • docs: keep the alias and command cells of the short forms on one line - join the words of the Alias and Stands for cells with no-break spaces and the dashes with non-breaking hyphens, so the table does not wrap a command in the middle Signed-off-by: ernolf <raphael.gradenwitz@googlemail.com>

  • docs: lead each alias of Git tips with the commands it replaces - open the puh, merged and gone sections with the usual commands, then the alias, then its setup and details - add git gone, which fetches with --prune and deletes every local branch whose upstream is gone, except the one checked out - explain why gone reads the tracking state with LC_ALL=C git for-each-ref instead of filtering git branch -vv - add the short forms amend, st and lg - add a section on fetch.prune, pull.ff only and push.autoSetupRemote, and the git switch - tip Signed-off-by: ernolf <raphael.gradenwitz@googlemail.com>

  • docs: make the merged alias resumable after a failed step - fast-forward main with fetch origin main:main before switching, so a failed fetch leaves the branch checked out - take the branch as argument on main and pull with --ff-only there, so the alias can be run again after any step - prune gone remote-tracking refs and note that puh is simply run again after a failed push Signed-off-by: ernolf <raphael.gradenwitz@googlemail.com>

  • docs: add Git tips with helpful aliases - add the Git tips page with defining and listing aliases, short forms for commit and push, a guarded first push of the current branch and the clean-up after a merge - link Git tips from the sidebar and Home under Git Signed-off-by: ernolf <raphael.gradenwitz@googlemail.com>
