This is the second showcase in the generator series, demonstrating continuity across generators using the Faction Generator with shared session context.
In Showcase #1, we rolled the coastal smuggling town Gull's Roost.
One of the common issues with RPG generator suites is the "isolated island" problem: you roll a settlement, then roll a faction with a separate tool, and the faction invents unrelated gods, places, and conflicts that ignore the town you just created.
In Codex Cryptica, generators share a Session Hub. When moving from the Settlement Generator to the Faction Generator, existing entities, locations, and active tensions carry forward as campaign context.
What was carried forward from Gull's Roost:
Below is the completely unedited, raw output from rolling a criminal syndicate inside Gull's Roost.
The Low-Tide Rust
What they control
The Low-Tide Rust dominates the dark recesses of The Jaw-Arch, converting the underwater sea-cave into a secure dry-dock for unloading hijacked hulls. They hold a monopoly on the black-market distribution of heavy spice plundered from the recent ketch incident, securely warehousing it beneath coastal floorboards.
What they want
They intend to completely break the municipal authority of The High House by blackmailing Council Magistrate Bramley Vance over his secret involvement in the spice hijacking. Their ultimate ambition is to formalize their extortion ring into a recognized maritime tax authority, bleeding every independent merchant in Gull's Roost dry.
Why they are dangerous
Operating from the shadows of the collapsed sea-arch, these cutthroats utilize specialized acid mixtures that eat through ship hulls and city ironwork in minutes. They view violence not as a last resort, but as routine property management when dealing with inquisitive outsiders or unpaid protection fees.
How to use them at the table
Introduce the faction when the characters investigate the missing spice-ketch and find their informant dissolving into a rusty puddle inside Mother Orelia’s Parlor. Use the syndicate's brutal enforcement tactics to force players into choosing between aiding corrupt officials at The High House or running dangerous contraband through The Jaw-Arch.

Internal Conflict
Garrow wants to negotiate a peaceful tax-farming arrangement with the local municipal leadership, but his younger lieutenants prefer a bloody overthrow of the harbor district.

How context works under the hood
When running in Session Hub mode, previous generator drafts extract proper nouns and core constraints (locations, authority figures, current crisis) and inject them as high-priority context into downstream prompts. The model is explicitly instructed to treat existing named people and places as established anchors rather than inventing parallel ones.
If you want to try rolling standalone factions or building connected sessions without an account:
How do you usually handle connective tissue when linking random tables or generators together during session prep?
