RTL support

Right to Left support for Arabic etc.

Two button, for RTL and LTR are enough for me.

I am referring to the two button you see on the right-most side of the 3rd line in the TinyMCE example:

No need for browser detection, as far as i am concern.

+1 for this super important feature. Seems like the implementation shouldn't be rocket science, much like the ul is implemented, rtl can be added to the line:
<div dir="rtl">…</div>

Regarding @nadavkav's point about buttons, rather than having two of them I think we can work with a single toggle button.

Please please consider the digital language divide and consider prioritizing this issue accordingly.

For now, i use a workaround this issue by clicking Firefox's right-click-context menu action "Switch Page direction" when inside the text area of the etherpad-lite editor.

This should be passable as a parameter via the URL and/or preferably be able to detect the users local settings.

I think this issue needs to be opened again since it is not solved.

As a person whose native language is Persian (with RTL script) many times it happens that I write documets in which you may find both English and Persian. Lets talk about the example of writting something related to some python script. The body text is in Persian and therefore RTL while the python scripts are in English and therefore LTR. So applying a general direction to the document is not a solution.

I suggest the render engine from Markdown to HTML be modified and apply bidi methods to the HTML elements so if a paragraph starts with letter in RTL scripts, the whole paragraph become RTL and if it is in Latin, it goes LTR.

This is how many text editors work.

Should we continue this discussion here or should I open a new issue?
