New Release: Webhooks for Inventory and Listing Events
We're excited to announce a major expansion of Webhooks with two new domains: Inventory and Listing! Building on the existing Order events, your application can now subscribe to receive real-time notifications when inventory or listing changes occur in a shop — no polling required.
What's Included in This Release
Inventory Events
inventory.created – delivered when a product is created.
inventory.deleted – delivered when a product is deleted.
inventory.updated – delivered when a product's price, readiness state, SKU, and/or state is updated.
inventory.out_of_stock – delivered when a product's quantity reaches 0.
Listing Events
listing.created – delivered when a listing is created.
listing.updated – delivered when a listing's title, description, personalization, taxonomy, images, attributes, and/or state is updated.
listing.deleted – delivered when a listing is deleted.
Note: Products vs Listings
A listing is the parent item a seller puts up for sale in their shop. For example, a tshirt.
A product is the specific purchasable variant of a listing, defined by a unique combination of variations. For example, a tshirt that is size small and color blue.
Payloads
All events share a set of common fields (event_type, resource_url, shop_id). Each domain adds its own fields on top:
Inventory events include listing_id and product_id.
Listing events include listing_id.
