Modbus TCP-IP issue after updating openWB series 2+ to software version 2.2 #29812
-
DescriptionI installed an evcc instance on a Raspberry Pi 4, which was successfully able to communicate with my setup—consisting of two SMA Sunny Tripower 10.0 inverters, a Sunny Home Manager 2.0, and an openWB series 2+ wallbox—via EEBus, and to control the wallbox. The openWB was configured for "secondary control," and the power output values from both Tripower units were displayed correctly. One thing I noticed: after updating the openWB to version 2.2, there was an explicit reference to Modbus TCP and a specific port—something that had not been present before. I have read that, for some devices, the number of Modbus participants (clients) is strictly limited. Could this be the cause? Although the evcc surplus charging control continues to function—presumably because it relies on the energy meter—the power output breakdown is no longer displayed correctly, as the values from one of the two inverters are missing. Perhaps utilizing a Modbus proxy might be a viable solution, but I have no idea how to implement this (as I am quite a beginner in these matters). Steps to ReproduceClick on inverter SMA Tripower -454 after startup to get the error message. Noone knows where the problem is coming from exactly, as long as this buggy openwb software is used. This might be a new bug (out of thousends) in v2.2... Try to downgrade to your last working setup. And maybe it would be good to completely remove the openwb software from the box, using https://docs.evcc.io/docs/devices/chargers#embedded-software-replacement
