What

Adds README.zh-CN.md, a Simplified Chinese translation of the existing README.md. A small English | 简体中文 switcher line is included at the top of the new file so readers can navigate back to the English original.

No changes to README.md, source code, or any other file.

Why

Ladder has a sizeable Chinese-speaking user base (the topic — paywall testing / header rewriting — is widely discussed in Chinese self-hosting communities), but no Chinese documentation exists yet. A native translation lowers the barrier to setup and reduces "what does this env var do" issues from users who would otherwise rely on machine translation of the README.

The translation preserves the original structure, all code blocks, all images, and all external links 1:1. Only prose was localized.

How tested

  • Verified rendered Markdown locally (headings, tables, mermaid block, code fences all render correctly)
  • Cross-checked every env-var description and ruleset comment against the English source for technical accuracy
  • No build/test impact — documentation-only change

Drafted with AI assistance; verified by author before publishing.

Looks good to me, although I don't speak Chinese. Let me know, when it is ready to merge.
