Hello Martin ! greetings from 'Rainroom69'. New here but not new to Executor as I'm using it daily since early 2009 !
Since a lot has been done and getting from beta 0.99 to version 1.00 took a very long time.... Now we (you) are at 2.0 incl. a complete new website and on github and most likely much more. Hope the community will be back as active as it was in the begin years where members contributed and tested to each new version. A lot of functionality came into Executor but still keeping it 'simple'. That's why I remember you wanted to create something powerful but without too many 'fancy' things like some other similar launches have. Hope you continue to stick to this mindset. For me Executor is good enough as is :-) but I welcome new ideas from other people and will be happy to see and use new options once available. Will go through this new website and try to find stuff I did not yet found on the old sites. (btw the previous website was still a very nice design and set up :-). Now I need time to dig into version 2.0 ;-) . Best Regards, R.

Thanks and welcome, I will try to stick to the "stay on target" statement on the home page. It's a constant lure to add more and more functionality, but just like a swiss army knife, each tool can easily be outperformed by a dedicated tool. So in general I rather have Executor be a fast gateway to open that right tool. That's one of the the reasons I added the internal browsers. So if someone really want a QR code generator within Executor, just open a webpage that can do that in the internal browser. You then have the option to also build that page specially for Executor, if you for example want to add some result to the input field etc. and maybe not have a page spammed with ads (it can also be a page offline on the computer and not from the internet).
Regarding website yeah when I looked at the old website shutting it down I was also like, "it's actually a quite nice compact format, just getting to the point", but it had some limitations I was quite tired of. If you zoom out the new website it almost has the same compact feel 🙂

Finished an in-place upgrade to V2. Glad to report that everything (settings, keywords, etc.) from my older version is working exactly as before. I don't use any of the new or fancy stuff (yet), but I intend to do some exploring. Thank you again for all your effort. Know that it is appreciated.

I added a comment to https://alternativeto.net/software/executor/about/ about the new release. But you might want to make sure all the other info is still accurate.

Hey Martin! Hey Rainroom! Remember me from the old forum? The old forum was a blast and I miss all of the users and the activity.

Nice to see Executor here on GitHub. Thought I had the actual source code there until I looked inside the archive. 😭

WOW 2.0.0!!! Still have to read through the changelog.

I still use Executor daily. It's just one of those things if you don't have it, it's like missing a very important part of your body. 😆

Hi @Nighted and welcome again 😃, maybe I'll add the code to the repository at some point. Since the project dates back to 2007, some of the code is not that nice, but gets the job done (me thinking "why on earth did I do the code like that back then?"). In version 2, I also did refactor some of the code that really annoyed me, some was also overly complex for what it actually needed to do. Agree with the body part, every time there's some new version of Windows (probably trying to become more Mac'ish) having Executor makes it less painful to upgrade.
