Library like jest which should have been updated with the latest version of react-scripts is not getting updated.(on running npm install))

I wanted to update the jest library.My current version of jest has vulnerabilities.I have updated its parent to the latest version but the child dependency ie. Jest is not getting updated. It should have been updated to its latest version ie. 4.0.4 on updating the parent to its latest version.but it is not happening.Can any one help with this?
