Translation Workflows - co-locate translated md file close to md source

Is there a better way to handle translations when using Git? I do not want to lock my contents inside outside services like Crowdin.

Is there any way to

• put the translated MD file next to the original folder?
• find which content is not yet translated?

We don't support that for now but I think it could be a nice addition to have for example:

docs/myDoc.md
docs/myDoc.fr-FR.md
