DAT 1.0 – Is MFi/PPID Authorization Still Required for App Store Submission?

Hi Meta team,

We are currently blocked from publishing our iOS app using Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2.

Apple rejected our app because it uses com.meta.ar.wearable and asked us to provide an MFi Product Plan authorization and PPID from Meta.

With DAT 1.0 now released, can you please confirm whether this MFi/PPID requirement has been removed?

If so, can we now submit our app to the App Store without obtaining an MFi PPID?

Hi @brokepixo, thanks for reaching out. DAT 1.0 doesn't change this yet. Meta isn't able to add third-party apps to its MFi Product Plan or issue PPIDs at this time, so App Store submissions that declare com.meta.ar.wearable will still hit this review requirement.

We know publishing is the top request, and we hope to share more soon. Please watch this forum and the Wearables Developer Center (https://wearables.developer.meta.com/) for updates.

In the meantime, you can distribute to testers through TestFlight and a release channel. No PPID is needed for that.
