@asukaminato0721 Could you expand on what kind of support you're looking for? From what I understand, FastAPI works well with static type hints, so a lot of things should already work out of the box; is there something specific you're missing?

In PyCharm, I frequently use the endpoint plugin to navigate to the definition (when I know the endpoint url in the frontend, it's a fast way to go to the definition in the backend).

Another feature I liked with (iirc) resharper for .net, is url autocompletion and go to definition for test API clients. So when I have a FastAPI TestClient, and start typing client.get("..., that I can autocomplete the urls. And afterwards, doing Ctrl+click on the url would get me to the definition of the endpoint.

Both are not necessary, but indeed helpful.

My workflow is:

1. See network request in the browser
2. Press shortcut for search endpoint (not sure about the exact term) in PyCharm
3. Start typing the url
4. Select the appropriate endpoint with arrow keys, press enter to go to the definition

Viewing them in the side bar is already great, but I think with many endpoints a search/filter functionality would be more useful. Not sure if VS Code already allows searching in these side bars, maybe that's possible?

FastAPI Issue – Workflow Explanation ###The issue occurs due to incorrect virtual environment or interpreter selection.

1. Identify the Issue
   The problem is not with FastAPI itself.
   It is related to IDE / extension configuration.
   FastAPI works in the terminal, but errors appear in the IDE.
2. Create a Virtual Environment
   python -m venv venv
3. Activate the Virtual Environment
   Linux / macOS / Termux
   source venv/bin/activate
   Windows
   venv\Scripts\activate
4. Install Required Packages Inside venv
   pip install fastapi uvicorn
5. Select Correct Python Interpreter in IDE
   Open IDE (VS Code / PyCharm)
   Choose Python Interpreter
   Select the Python executable from the venv folder
   Example:
   ./venv/bin/python
   or
   venv\Scripts\python.exe
6. Run the FastAPI Application
   uvicorn main:app --reload
7. Conclusion
   Once the IDE uses the correct venv, the problem is resolved.
