Admin Login in Development

Please include the following information when filing an issue
• Current version of FBCTF installed (commit head)
• System and Installation details, such as the Linux distribution used, and installation method you chose.
• Detailed description of the problem. Include steps to reproduce the problem when possible.
• Screenshots to help describe the problem when appropriate.
• Relevant output from any logs examined.
• Any steps you have taken to resolve the issue.

Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit dev install.
I see some threads here related to admin login but none seem to be exactly what I am encountering. I installed a dev environment and do not seem to have any errors in the hhvm, nginx, or mysql logs. I click the Login menu and then attempt to login as admin/password. When I click the Login button nothing happens. No error message no apparent round trip to the server. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

That sounds like it may be an invalid login. Try to reset the admin password first:

Othrerwise it appears to be a client side issue. Which commit head did you provision off of?

I tried resetting the password and that did not work. It does seem like a client issue to me as it behaves as if the JavaScript is broke. I pulled from the master branch. I see a number of other related threads but the solutions are not clear. I tried applying a patch per one of the threads but the results are the same. I really appreciate your assistance with this.

@gjemerick Can you give us the client-side errors? For Chrome and Firefox, you can use something like Development Tools or Inspect and see if there are any Javascript errors.

Attached is what I receive when the page loads. Javacript / Login button appears broke after page load. Hi Steve, Just a friendly follow-up. Any ideas on what might be the cause of this problem or a work around? I have tried re-installing a couple of times using the ³manual² method and the script. @gjemerick That's a weird error I haven't seen before. I would recommend that you re-provision with the latest master version.

You could also try re-running grunt. Perhaps it got interrupted during the initial provision. Do to that follow these instructions:

cd /var/www/fbctf
grunt --force

I did a complete reinstall from fresh Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit server image using the Manual (Alternate) instructions found here https://github.com/facebook/fbctf/wiki/Installation-Guide,-Development

I'm getting the exact same results as shown in my previous screenshot. Do you have any other troubleshooting ideas?

@gjemerick I provisioned using those dev instructions, not seeing any client errors. Are you changing anything in the provision setup or making any code changes?

You said you started over fresh, so you ran this (and no fbctf directory existed?)
