Moves (Fork)

This is a fork of Moves with some additional features and fixes.

Changes in this fork

  • Activation delay: Configurable delay before activating move/resize mode, preventing accidental activation when using keyboard shortcuts that include the modifier keys. Once active, switching between move/resize modes is instant (no delay).
  • Floating indicator: Visual feedback showing when move/resize mode is active
  • Fix window jump: Prevents window from jumping on activation by skipping stale mouse delta
  • Justfile: Allows using just for running common tasks

Creating a new Github release

  • Run just release; by default it will bump the patch version, push a tag, kicking off a new release.

Local development

  • just run will stop existing application, build, and start a new instance.
  • NOTE: Before doing just run, make sure to remove the application in Privacy & Security > Accessibility as MacOS gets confused with new instances of the application.

Watch the introduction on YouTube:

  • ⚔️ Moves makes it easier than ever to position your windows juuust right.
  • ✨ Hold down your chosen modifier keys and move the mouse. No need to fiddle with 3px wide window edges or far away title bars.
  • ⚡️ Moves lives in your menubar and is very light weight. The only thing it does, it does well.
