Installation

  1. install extension to all your devices from Firefox addons store or Chrome Web Store (if you are using Chrome/Edge/Vivaldi/Brave/Opera)

  2. make sure your browser "Synchronization" is enabled:

  • in Firefox, check the about:preferences#sync page and make sure "Add-ons" synchronization is enabled:

    sync_firefox

  • in Chrome, check that you are signed in:

    sync_chrome

  1. on each device, give your device a unique name and save changes:

Limitations

  • maximum length of the message is limited by the browser "sync" engine and should be around 8KB (8,000 characters)
  • Firefox can be a bit slow delivering messages, it can take several minutes for the message to appear

Sending messages to phone / tablet

This addon won't work with phone, but there is a simple workaround:

  1. visit my "Temp note" website:
    https://note.fastaddons.com/

  2. write your note there

  3. right click the tab and select Send to device / <one of your devices>

How it works?

When you write your message there, it's encoded into URL and when you send that tab (and it's URL) to another device, the page will load and restore the message from the URL.
This way you can also send messages from your Android device back to your desktop/notebook!
