Features

Details

The plugin calls the YouTube Data API v3 using your channel’s ID and API key, then renders a focused subscriber-count view.

You can:

• Point it at any channel you own or follow by using its channel ID
• Customize the header text (for example, SUBSCRIBERS, SUBS, or your channel name)

This makes it easy to keep an eye on your channel growth at a glance from your InkyPi frame.

Settings

The plugin settings page lets you configure:

• YouTube channel ID – the channel whose subscriber count you want to display
• Custom subscribers text – label shown above the subscriber count

Requirements

• A valid YouTube Data API key (YouTube Data API v3)
• A YouTube channel ID for the channel you want to display
• Network access from the InkyPi device to the YouTube Data API

API key and channel ID

API key:

• Create a Google Cloud project at https://console.cloud.google.com/
• Enable YouTube Data API v3 for the project
• Create an API key under APIs & Services → Credentials
• Add it to InkyPi as YOUTUBE_API_KEY via the key icon on the InkyPi front page

Channel ID:

• Sign in to YouTube
• Open Settings for your channel
• Go to Advanced settings
• Copy the Channel ID and paste it into the plugin settings
