it's still now available in the official store, it's still v2.16.0 there, while the extension itself complains about being out of date

Every update needs to be manually reviewed by Mozilla, so it takes some time until new version is available. You can ignore the message in the extension until new version is released. I will update it in the future to be only displayed when the new extension version is actually available.
