[firebase_admob] The plugin firebase_admob could not be built

I have integrated firebase_admob in my application and am now trying to run my app through
flutter run -d <deviceId> --release

However, It is always unsuccessful and am having the message below:

It actually runs well when I have it on debug mode on my emulator and actual device and that the error above only shows whenever I use the run command above.

you need to import androidx multidex and no legacyt support multidex

Please add

    def multidex_version = "2.0.1"
    implementation 'androidx.multidex:multidex:$multidex_version'

Remove this

you need to import androidx multidex and no legacyt support multidex

Please add

    def multidex_version = "2.0.1"
    implementation 'androidx.multidex:multidex:$multidex_version'

Remove this

Since I don't have much experience with configuring the file, I just tried following the conventions of things that are already defined.

I put the def multidex_version = "2.0.1" on the root level of the gradle file, along with the other def items, while I put implementation 'androidx.multidex:multidex:$multidex_version' inside the dependencies bracket.

Below is what came out of my android/app/build.gradle file:

In relation to my previous response as well, I also tried affixing the version number on the dependency declartion like so:
