Converting FDS 3D outputs to Other 3D file formats

Hello,

I am trying to figure out if it is possible to convert FDS (Smokeview) 3D outputs into other 3D file formats like .vtk or .h5? Or even just simple column excel formats? I would like to extract the data to a readable format for Python for analysis. Has anyone ever tried this before or know how to accomplish this? Any help would be appreciated.

I have an example script for this application in pyfdstools at the link below. There are routines for the smoke3d files, slices, and boundary files. Let me know if you run into issues. It has been a bit since I used this script.
