@noahtalerman: customer-pingali wants to suppress the "Allow install" notification that end users see when they enroll their BYOD iPhone. I don't think we can call this feature complete for pingali until we address this feedback.
UPDATE: There's no way to suppress this notifications for BYOD phones
customer-reedtimmer also wants to update these apps during non-working hours so that they don't disrupt end user of kiosk or Zoom room hosts. Here's how this works in Jamf:
customer-eponym: Direct quote: "Ensuring the single app mode (SAM) application is installed at enrollment is critical in streamlining the provisioning process for Kiosk type devices. If the application is not installed when the SAM profile is applied then device interaction will be blocked until the application is installed. These devices tend to be on stands in hallways or on reception desks in lobbies making it difficult to make just in time management changes, such as application installations, during installation or troubleshooting."
@noahtalerman: User requested this because ensuring that a Single App Mode (SAM) application is installed at enrollment is critical for streamlining kiosk device provisioning. Without it, device interaction may be blocked, requiring manual intervention in inconvenient locations.
@noahtalerman: In the interim, IT admins can create an automation using a third part automation tool (ex. Tines) to catch the activity webhook when a new host enrolls. This webhook would trigger the MDM command to install software and set the host in single app mode.
@noahtalerman: Eventually, Fleet could add an option to install iOS/iPadOS apps on hosts when they enroll. Fleet could also add an option to set a host to single app mode.
