@ksatter went ahead and approved the PR because we can make adjustments shortly after it goes online. My thought is to include a line like this right after your description line: "The purpose of the growth team is to own and improve the growth funnel to drive awareness, adoption, and referrals of Fleet while honoring the ideals and voice of the open source community, and our company values." |
@timmy-k Added the change you requested. No need to submit a new PR!

| Fleet gives teams fast, reliable access to data about the production servers, employee laptops, and other devices they manage - no matter the operating system. Users can search for any device data using SQL queries, making it faster to respond to incidents and automate IT. Fleet can also be used to monitor vulnerabilities, battery health, software, and even EDR and MDM tools like Crowdstrike, Munki, Jamf, and Carbon Black, to help confirm that those platforms are working how administrators think they are. Fleet is open-source software. It's easy to get started quickly, easy to deploy, and it even comes with an enterprise-friendly free tier available under the MIT license. |

Please re-word. This sounds scary and not like Fleet. What is private when using Fleet? "users can search for any device data using SQL queries"

Could we make this "Users can search for any device data using SQL queries, making it faster to respond to incidents and automate IT, but osquery and Fleet never have access to keystrokes, mouse movements, email or text messages, webcams or microphones, or screen content." @Desmi-Dizney

I would include photos and files if it's accurate.

@ksatter do you think you'd be more equipped to do that? I'm not super aware of what photos and files express that osquery can't access this info, I just pulled it from https://fleetdm.com/transparency

Should we include this without the responsible party?

@Desmi-Dizney as I understand it every channel doesn't have a DRI. I'm trying to figure out if it does have a DRI but should we assume it's no one for the time being and then correct that later if it's wrong?

Once this is live I'll do another PR that establishes me as the DRI for #help-promote in slack

@mikermcneil is there something preventing this from being deployed? Not 100% sure where I'd find the page, I assume /hanbook/growth/, but it doesn't appear to be live. |
|
@timmy-k Couple of things 1This thing is some unrelated issue to us, I think: 2There was an old redirect from when https://fleetdm.com/handbook/growth existed in the past, many moons ago. 3We need to link to the new "Growth" page manually from the handbook landing page (I overlooked this when merging). @timmy-k This would be a great one for you to take a crack at editing as a followup PR: https://fleetdm.com/handbook |
|
@timmy-k It's live now at https://fleetdm.com/handbook/growth after removing the redirect. Now it just needs to be added to the landing page: |

I brought over the blurb from Community for Growth, but I feel like we need something more specific to the Growth team's mission. @timmy-k, any suggestions?
