Comique

A java desktop comic-book reader

About

A fast comic book reader implemented in Java for desktop computers.

I wrote this software for fun and because I couldn't find a simple tool for this purpose.

It is fast, it displays pages and scrolls very very smoothly, but it requires as much memory as the uncompressed images files and therefore loading is quite long.

Usage

  • Compile or download comique.jar from here
  • Launch comique.jar
  • Drag & Drop a cbr/cbz file, an image directory or a file within an image directory onto the dialog.
  • Wait for loading :)
  • Read within the page: using up/down, j/k keys, space, mouse drags, mouse wheel.
  • Change pages : using left/right, enter, backspace, n/p keys.
  • Drag & Drop another file onto the display in order to load another file
  • Exit by pressing 'ESCAPE'

Java 1.6

Build

  • Use Maven to build the java-unrar dependency and install it.
  • Use Maven to generate the jar file (goal 'package' should do it).
