Changes in this Release

  • Adds GenAI Service Task.
  • Adds Error Boundary Events on Script tasks
  • Enhances logging to include events occurring during step processing.
    Logging levels can be set at system, diagram, and instance level for maximum flexibility.
  • Enhanced use of APEX Human Tasks as BPMN User Tasks.
    Allowing the workflow to assign task ownership and admin roles, and to clean up cancelled tasks.
  • New plugin for returning APEX Human Task task state and outcome to Flows for APEX.
  • New Flow Viewer plugin built as a web-component and with simpler API and allowing badging.
  • Adds an automation for purging completed process instances after a retention period.
  • Existing automations for archiving and statistics gathering are now exposed in the Flows for APEX application.
  • Allows Instance naming to be (re)set declaratively using substitutions during the BPMN Start Event.
  • Support for Flows for APEX Enterprise Edition 25.1 features process suspend and resume, and process rewind.
  • Required APEX version increased to APEX v24.1.
  • Enhanced apps "Expense Claims" and "Simple Process Starter" to reflect most features added to Flows for APEX 25.1 CE.

1. Fresh Install

NOTE: If you are installing on APEX v24.2.0 or v24.2.1, note and follow the instructions contained in Issue #782 to work around an APEX application installer problem. Oracle has fixed the underlying problem with APEX v24.2.2 or higher.

2. Upgrade from Flows for APEX v24.1

3. Enabling the REST API & Other Post Installation Steps

Use the steps as documented in the installation instructions.

4. If you upgrade APEX to a new version after installing Flows for APEX

If you upgrade APEX to a new version, you will see a message when opening the Flows for APEX application.
Follow the instructions outlined here, to make Flows aware of the upgrade.
