The wiki on this repo is just for my random thoughts, and for experimentation.
But mostly it's to be my off-line memory. I have a bad memory, and so I dump things in here that I need to reference periodically but not frequently enough that I remember. Like what what's the freaking git command to clone a wiki? (See Wiki-cheat-sheet#Local_Editing.)
I used to have a full MediaWiki running on my hosting service, back when I had a hosting service. I've since bailed on paying somebody for my web presence (such as it is) and use github for everything. But I always missed my wiki (which I did archive before I left, and can be found here).
But when I migrated over to GitHub, I was more concerned about my software repos, so I didn't investigate all github had to offer. Who knew it actually had a decent Wiki? (Well, I guess a lot of people knew, but I didn't.)
I love that the GitHub wiki can be maintained as individual files, rather than having the content tied up in a database. I feel like I was lost in the dessert, and now I've entered the promised land.
