The platform "esp32_s" is what you need to use. |

Ok after spending.the last several hours trying to get this to work on the esp32 s3 I have tried current version and the beta version these doo not seem to compile the latest esptool in current release just fails to flash have checked the cable and tried several boards but fails to flash. The web flash tool just says unsupported board my final option now is to try this on a second laptop with full fresh install of all software but before indo this any ideas the esptool is saying it is failing to flash at some ridiculous speed maybe this is the issue ? But I am on the verge of giving up |

On the web flasher, under experimental, you will see ESP32S as a platform. |

have tried this with multiple boards and multiple cables every time it comes up your board is not recognised this is the common ESP 32 s3 devkit with 2 usb c sockets on it |

I just purchased a few of them. Running into RMT issues. Going to need to reduce the number of outputs to 4. They made the RMT channels 4 dedicated in and 4 dedicated out insted of 8 selectable. |

Ok so would I be better off buying some replacement ESP32 WROOM 32 and forget about the ESP32 S3 ? I usually only control a max of 2 strips per controller or 3 props (stars/snowflakes) I know the 8266 is pretty much end of life now amd I need to replace a few of them too was just looking to save a few pennies and reuse what I jave but if not possible I will order up some WROOM boards and have a smaller display this year and start designing the PCB to fit in to new waterproof enclosure for next year season.. Thank you for all ypur help I kinda lost many hours sleep and would have lost way more without your help. |

It is going to take me a few weeks to get the S3 version working. Yes using one of the other versions would be better |

Uh oh!

For last few years have been using the EsPixelStick software on ESP 32 WROOM boards however due to moisture and harsh outdoor environment a few of my controllers have now decided to die. I do however have a vast amount of ESP 32 S3 Devkit boards that were used for another project that has now been scrapped. So before i get my hopes up and startdesigning new power and buffer pcb i thought i would first see if they are compatible and if so what limitations there are. Thanks in advance for any info to save me a whole bunch of headaches.
