- Give up on parvorm in valgrind-check and coverage. - Switch from MPICH to OpenMPI because MPICH in Ubuntu 24.04 is broken. See: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mpich/+bug/2072338
This causes GCC to automatically set an appropriate -fprofile-update value when using -coverage.

Ubuntu 20.04 runners are gone.
This PR upgrades Ubuntu from 20.04 to 24.04, the latest LTS release.
