can't set working proxy for service on VPS

Hi,
att beggining i would like to say that Pangolin is awesome solution. Thank you for creating it!
I use it to bypass c-gnat as my ISP is T-mobile 5g/LTE and it works perfectly with newt on my NAS.

But i also would like to use for services that I'm running on VPS. Unfortunately i don't know how to do it :(

I created local site - i called it "racknerd"
then i create resource, give it a name

and then i fill all data with ip of VPS and port

unfortunately when i access link i have "Gateway Timeout"

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, could somebody help me with this issue?

Usually gateway timeout means there is an issue using the address in the target to make the connection. Just a heads up as this is often the issue:

Since the Pangolin stack is running in containers, if the IP you use in the target is localhost or 127.0.0.1, it won't address the "localhost" of the VPS itself, but rather the container. You can try 172.17.0.1 instead which would directly address the host of the VPS. Also, if the other services are running in the same docker network as Traefik, Gerbil, etc, then you can use the internal docker container name as the hostname.

I am facing the exact same issue but a bit different. I have a vps, setup everything and connected my NAS as a site successfully by installing newt on my proxmox debian vm. Now I have a service (deployed with docker compose) locally accessible on 192.168.178.104:9090 on that vm. Entering these values when creating a ressource will result in the Gateway timeout error. None of your suggestions helped. Do you have any other idea?

try VPS public ip. you will not have localhost or private ips's . it should work

I did try VPS public IP
I tried with 127.0.0.1
and i tried 127.0.0.1

same result when i try add as source service on different IP other than my NAS with newt running, for example if i want add my HomeAssistant on same LAN network that is my NAS with Newt client.

update: i made update of NEWT client on NAS.
now i have access to other devices im my home network: second NAS, router. But still struggling with access to Pi running HomeAssistant.
