Summary: Established and ran a technology company to bring to market a revenue generating iPad based Point-of-Sale platform for the restaurant industry. Lead a team that consists of talent in the following areas: iPhone & iPad development, Web Site Development, graphic design, data acquisition, sales, marketing, legal, investors, PCI regulatory compliance, partners, business development, interns and fund raising.

  • Envisioned and brought to market revenue generating iPad-based point-of-sale system that includes credit card processing, customer & kitchen receipt printing, web site reporting & analytics.

Summary: On the core platform team I Implemented MySpace’s first fully asynchronous server platform for distributed transactions. Led others in creating a custom high performance persistence product. Implemented MySpace’s first middle tier that sits between the Web Servers on the front and the Databases and Caching tier on the back. Provide 24/7 production support for thousands of servers. Maintained and enhanced the custom clustering, redundant, scalable, high-performance server platform. Filed for a patent. Maintained and enhanced the custom serialization framework. Participate in architectural overviews, code reviews and mentor junior developers.

  • Designed & Implemented MySpace’s first fully asynchronous execution platform for distributed transactions against thousands of servers including Databases, Distributed Caches, Web servers and other REST providers, SMTP servers, SPAM, Abuse & Logging Servers. The foundation of the implementation includes inventing algorithms for thread scheduling, thread starvation prevention, deferred execution.
  • Implemented & Deployed MySpace’s first true Middle-Tier execution platform. Which executes against the same servers as the above distributed transaction client.
  • Matured the existing custom Clustering, Load Balancing, Replication, Message Transport code base. Including being one of the few people in the company to root out latent hard to find bugs in our core server platform.
