Remain within edit menu after engine selection

Changing engines throws you back to ‘main’ menu when pressing K3. Is it possible to put you back in the edit menu where you last left?

Changing engines isn't something that is really supported (as I understand it) and I started with with this code snippet. So I'm honestly not sure how to keep the user in the params menu.
