Short answer: Never change a running system.
Long(er) answer: Go through the ChangeLog and look out for functions/fixes that would make it worth for your to set up the system anew. That would include some (small) syntax changes in BSB_LAN_custom_defs.h. It may or may not include changes in your Home Assistant setup, depending on the MQTT topics (which have changed). If you know that you will not be using more/other functions compared to the ones you are using now, then there is not much reason to update.
