Freelens is partnering with BountyHub to make possible that anyone who wants can finance an issue or earn money by developing.
Through BountyHub, anyone can fund an issue.
At the same time, anyone can earn the money that funded the issue by resolving it through PR.
Funding can be collective, so anyone who wishes can add a share to the issue's funding.
This way, we want to provide an additional opportunity to incentivize the development of the open source project and, at the same time, lend a helping hand to those who wish to contribute and earn money.
Freelens is generally external to the BountyHub system, and does not receive any percentage of the bounty money exchanged through its platform.
This is an additional option that can be used or not, you are free to choose and you are free to share your thoughts.
Since we want this opportunity to be exploited in the most appropriate way, we are working with the community to gradually define rules to ensure it is managed in the most beneficial way for everyone.
Below we list the rules we've decided on.
The others, related to BountyHub itself, can be found in its documentation.
If you'd like to suggest additions, changes, or simply let us know what you think, just let us know. We value every opinion and the general wishes of the community.
Anyone can submit a bounty for an issue or apply to earn the bounty by solving the issue with a PR.
If a bounty it's a feature, the core team must approve it.
Anyone can apply to be assigned to work on a bounty issue and thus have the chance to earn the bounty.
It is the core team that decides who to assign the issue to someone.
If an issue has already been assigned, no one else can apply in the meantime.
Only those assigned to the issue can propose a PR.
If not specified, it means that there is no set time limit within which to propose and have a PR accepted to earn the bounty.
If a long time has passed or the core team recognizes that the candidate failed to resolve the issue the core team can choose to reassign the issue to another candidate.
You cannot propose a PR if you have not first at least verified that the build is carried out correctly.
