Camera motion status not updating

When arming and disarming the system, the sensor updates in home assistant. But when toggling the motion for a camera on and off it stays on. The only way to toggle the motion sensor off in the HASS ui is to disarm the system entirely. Where both are then disabled.

I believe this issue was fixed in the API with version 0.7.0, thanks to this PR: #50

Right now, the home-assistant component is operating off of an old version of the API because I need to re-write parts of the component to improve/fix issues/etc but have had zero time to do so. In the meantime, to verify that this did, in fact, fix the issue- you can edit the blinkpy.py file within home-assistant to point to version 0.7.0. If you do go this route, let me know if that fixed it or not!

Sounds good, to clarify though when you mention changing the version to you mean changing:

REQUIREMENTS = ['blinkpy==0.6.0']

to 0.7.0 in the file located at components/blink.py?

Actually, sorry, I take that back. You'll have to manually install the updated package. Assuming a standard pip based install (NOT HassIO) you can run the following commands:

pip3 install blinkpy==0.7.1
python3 -c "import blinkpy.helpers.constants as c; print(c.__version__)"

This should install v0.7.1 of blinkpy and the second command just verifies it succeeded (it should return 0.7.1. If it throws an error instead, then it did not work).

If you ever want to go back to the version Home Assistant currently uses, just type in

pip3 install blinkpy==0.6.0

How is that command applied to HASS.io running on an Ubuntu Docker Server.

No clue how HASS.io works, unfortunately. If it actually runs as a docker container, you would first run docker exec -it <CONTAINERNAME> /bin/bash but I don't think that's how hass.io was built.

I was able to update to 0.7.1, I ran the update command in the docker container and then created a custom blink.py in hass to change the version to use. The blink component still works fine, but the camera motion status still doesn't update. It is still tied to the armed status, showing motion as on when the system is armed and no motion when the system is disarmed.

Just reran the version checking command. It would seem that when the HASS container reboots it looses the update, and reverts back to the included 0.60. Based on when trying to run

pip3 install blinkpy==0.6.0
What is outputted is
Requirement already satisfied: blinkpy==0.6.0 in /usr/local/lib/python3.6/site-packages (0.6.0)

The update could potentially still work, but running in hass kills any attempt to update to 0.7.1

Closing this since the issue has been fixed with recent release of blinkpy, and the updated Blink platform merged into home-assistant with PR #16942
