Four of the five patents cited in the original CTW page were filed in 1997, and thus expired in 2017:

Further searching of the inventors/assignees yielded no further patents.

Unless I missed something, Context Tree Weighting will be free from patent encumbrance very soon!

Hi @eaglgenes101, sorry for the late response.
As the last covering patent has expired and the fact that I have not found any other bounding patents, I have removed mentions of patents and released this library under the BSD license.
