History / Study 39 Actuarial Domain

Revisions

  • Study 39: the eight-digit margin was our comparator rounding at a tie, not the arithmetic An exact value terminating in a 5 sits on a rounding tie; the comparator called that a disagreement and reported 8 digits for values agreeing to 16. It now measures the exact relative difference against the Double's own bit pattern. Corrected reading: 14 significant digits, uniform across all three arms, worst case a deep product. A 21st control arm pins the tie case. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

  • Study 39: the rest of the actuarial domain, and how far exact and float stay together Life, pensions, multi-state health and aggregation on 21 Eurostat life tables and 295 statutory rate triples. Every published input is fixed-decimal, therefore exact. Across 10,878 quantities at depths to 95 multiplications the two arithmetics agree to at least 8 significant digits, and to 13 outside the survival-chain arm; the tightest margin is in the shortest product. Morbidity recorded ABSENT with both archives named. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
