CI report + Jenkins

Hi,
I would like to know what is the recommended process for adding backstopJS as part of the build/CI.
I tried adding CI in the backstop.json config file, it is generating XML with the report, but i still missing some basic information like..

1. A way to identify whether the tests executed successfully. if there is a way to do so, please elaborate with example...
2. How to integrate that XML report with jenkins.
3. Is there a recommendation on how to use it in the CI? in the workflow?

1. So you run backstop locally to generate reference files. Then you commit them and the jenkins will do backstop test to test against these commited reference files. In the console output you can see in detail which files went through and which files not.

2. Backstop generates a JUnit report, more about JUnit in Jenkins can be found here: https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/JUnit+Plugin

3. We configured to run backstop tests always on Merge Requests, so we know that the merge will not introduce any new ui bugs.

Hello @YogevMagal,

It's pretty straightforward. Just set a xml output file location in backstop config file and make sure to configure Jenkins to check this report.

Can you please elaborate on what xml are you referring to? And what is the type of the report that you are using in the backstop.json? Is it CLI? CI?

Its not a issue/bug related to BackStopJS. Please go through stackoverflow about such kinda help. @garris I think you can close this issue.
