Comparison with Gregorian Calendar

Similarities

  • Similar total year length (≈365.24 days, 365.242189 days)
  • Year numbers can remain identical (optional)

Differences

  • Light year begins at 1. New February, not Jan 1
  • Months are balanced (29–31), not irregular (28–31)
  • Seasons match actual light behaviour
  • Moon cycles integrated numerically (M1–M13)

Offset

For most dates:

  • Light Calendar ≈ Gregorian – 2–3 days
This offset is small enough for easy adaptation.

Purpose

Improve coherence without disrupting fundamental chronology.
