The Twelve Light Months

If you want you can use the 12 months of the Light Calendar. They are aligned with the Light Seasons and run from New February (Neufebruar) to New January (Neujanuar).

Month Names (English / German)

  1. New February (Neufebruar)
  2. New March (Neumärz)
  3. New April (Neuapril)
  4. New May (Neumai)
  5. New June (Neujuni)
  6. New July (Neujuli)
  7. New August (Neuausgust)
  8. New September (Neuseptember)
  9. New October (Neuoktober)
  10. New November (Neunovember)
  11. New December (Neudezember)
  12. New January (Neujanuar)

Month Lengths

Balanced natural lengths:

  • 29, 30, or 31 days
  • Distribution: 29–31–31 | 31–31–31 | 31–31–30 | 29–30–30/31
  • Leap adjustment only affects New January.

Purpose

Months follow light-symmetry, not historical accidents of the Roman calendar. The four astronomical fix points are on the 16th or 17th of a month.
