I believe this sexist image should be removed immediately.

If anyone believes there needs to be a "funny image" regarding the list of exceptions feel free to find a Pokemon image that doesn't degrade women.

It should be everyone's responsibility to strive to make the developer community non-discriminatory, one of the reasons there is a huge gender disparity in our industry is because of things like this.

It was never meant to be sexist, it really depends on the eye of the beholder. That was the only funny image I got after googling "gotta catch em all". Thanks for bringing this up though.

Damn, you removed the image. I don't think it was sexist but rather a very smart and intelligent take on catching all exceptions. That image cracked me up every time I visited the repo.

Thanks for removing it @geeknam . I understand that you meant nothing by it. I haven't always been so aware of the struggles of women in general/in the industry and it's taken time to try to understand probably just a tiny bit of what a lot of them endure to be programmers. Now that I do, however, I try to call people out on issues wherever possible.

@acedip , sexism/the objectification of women is sometimes hard to spot, but it can be very offensive and lead to women feeling uncomfortable working in an industry where stuff like this sticks around for years before anyone speaks up. I agree that the Pokemon tag-line "gotta catch em all" could be amusing when you apply it to catching exceptions, however, the image itself is sexist because it's implying that women are something you can "catch" and that you are supposed to "catch" as many as possible.
