Geekswipe Avatars 1.1.0
Avatars stored at full size now get a square copy at the avatar size set under Settings › Discussion › Avatars. That covers pictures carried over from WP User Avatar and a default image picked from the Media Library, which were sent to every page at full size. On Geekswipe a 746 px PNG drawn at 28 px went from 50 KB to 6 KB.
- The copy is made by WP-Cron, so no page waits for it. Pages use it once it exists.
- The original is kept, and the copy is deleted with the attachment.
- Rendering avatars still adds no database queries.
To update, upload geekswipe-avatars.zip through Plugins › Add New Plugin › Upload Plugin and choose Replace current with uploaded. If a page cache is on, purge it a few minutes later so cached pages pick up the square copies.
Geekswipe Avatars 1.0.1
Members without an uploaded picture show their Gravatar again. The order is now the uploaded picture, then the member's Gravatar, then the Default Avatar chosen in Settings › Discussion, such as the site image, Initials or RoboHash.
- A Gravatar checkbox under Settings › Discussion › Avatars turns Gravatar off.
- The Plugins screen has a Settings link.

Geekswipe Avatars 1.0.0
First release.
Members upload their own profile picture from the bbPress Edit Profile form or their WordPress profile. Pictures are checked, cropped to a square and stripped of EXIF and GPS data.
Switching from WP User Avatar keeps its avatars, default avatar and limits. Activate Geekswipe Avatars, then deactivate and delete WP User Avatar, in that order.
Install by uploading geekswipe-avatars.zip through Plugins › Add New Plugin › Upload Plugin. Requires WordPress 6.4 and PHP 8.1.
