The front end of Codehike is going to be built with React. For anyone who doesn't know React I thought we could build a trail that also would help anyone who wants to contribute get started with the library.

jami: Is there any place out side code school to learn react?

joseph_rex: oh yes @jami here React.js Fundamentals: The best place to become familiar with React.js and the React.js Ecosystem The React.js Fundamentals course is the best place to start learning React.js and the React.js ecosystem (55KB)

cky: I taught myself React from reading the official documentation, but then I’m not a “code newbie” and can’t comment on how easy it would be for a code newbie to learn React from the official docs. Hopefully not too hard!

jami : I think if we were making a Learn React Trail, first step would probably to read what it is, or learn how to write Hello World.

cky: A calculator would be a neat way to teach yourself React! That’d be a nice next step up from a Hello World.

And React is really the right tool for that kind of project. Just like React is the right tool for implementing Minesweeper. 😉
